Grotte Chauvet 2

Have you ever heard of Chauvet Cave? It was discovered in 1994 near the Pont d’Arc in Ardèche, and is the oldest decorated cave known until today. His frescoes and prehistoric drawings are in perfect state of conservation. To preserve the original cave, the site is closed to the public. But a copy has been open since 2014. It’s called the Cave Chauvet 2. The replica allows everyone to see exactly what the interior of Chauvet Cave looks like. Here, everything has been reproduced exactly, it is a real immersion in the daily life of our ancestors, those who lived 36,000 years ago.
